ÒPass me the ball,Ó I shouted, my best friend Ely passed me the basketball and I made a slam dunk yahh!! I shouted out loud as I high fived her.

Hi my name is Joshua IÕm 14 years old and I live in a small town called Shady Cove right by the ocean. My best friend Ely and I go to Shady Cove high school weÕre freshmen. One sunny Friday evening Ely and I went down to the ocean for some fun, we took some sandwiches and a couple of sodas. We also took our surfboards and our wet suits. The first thing we did was roll out the blanket and got situated with every thing. Then when we were getting our wet suits on I saw some thing out of the corner of my eye. It was shiny and round floating in the ocean, I rushed to put on my wet suit and grabbed my surfboard and ran out as far into the ocean as I could then jumped onto my board and paddled. When I saw it I was stunned it was a silver and black round talisman. It was flat and fit neatly in my hand and was covered in seaweed, I wiped the seaweed off and there was a picture of a BASKET BALL!?!

I put the thing in my pocket and swam ashore to show Ely. When she saw it her mouth dropped wide-open ÒDO YOU KNOW WHAT THAT IS???Ó she screamed Òno I donÕt do you?Ó I replied Òthat is the only thing a basketball player ever dreams of, that is the talisman of winning the gameÓ she explained ÒthatÕs a relief because I have a game tomorrowÓ ÒNO!! You canÕt do thatÓ Òwhy not?Ó ÒBecause itÕs way to obvious thatÕs whyÓ Òok fine, but you owe me.Ó
