Joey, Scout for the King

I took a long sip from my milk and took a big bite from my sandwich. While chewing my sandwich I shout to my big bro and mom. “Bye mom and Bart!” And mom replied back “bye Joey, do you need a snack or something?” I said back “ I told you a million times I’m fine and beside I’m already eating”. “I Hope you bring me some money when you get back home” Bart said. We both laughed. I walked out of my cabin and walked to my horse Shooting Star and feed him some grass and carrots and let him chew his food for about five minutes. I then got on him and started my first ride to the castle in Oakville.

When I got to the forest. I started to feel unsafe for a moment and then said to myself “wait a minute, why should I be scared when I have the third fastest horse in the city. Then I felt a little safer. When I got out of the forest, I saw about 20 rangers on the side of the trail. Then one of them pointed his bow at me and said “name and purpose?” . I replied quickly “my name is Joey Erone and the king sent me a mail to go to his castle. He looks at a scroll and it look like he would let go of the arrow but he didn’t, instead he lowered his bow and said, “you may pass”. I quickly rode away. After passing the forest and rangers I’m now on the bridge, which is like 10 miles long to go to the center of the city. When I went about 3 miles I saw a hole on the bridge I quickly stopped and examined it, there was a sign I read it and it said “bridge closed for repair. I kicked the sign away and jump over the hole and kept going.

When I saw the end of the bridge, there was a giant spider, two actually. I got off of shooting star and I tried to sneak past them but when I took a step it made a crunch sound, I look what I step on it was a piece of dried up beef. Then they heard the sound and the two spiders sprinted towards me. I grab my saber and pointed my sword at one of them. And just when they were 5 feet away from me, two arrows came out of nowhere and hit the spiders and they dropped to the ground right in front of me. I look at where the arrows come from and there was one of the rangers I saw when I came out of the forest on a tree. I shout to him “thanks”. He didn’t reply and disappeared.

I got back on Shooting Star and continue my adventure to the castle.

When I got to the center of the city, I first bought a sandwich and started eating. When I finished eating my sandwich, I walk Shooting Star to the stable and paid the stable master one silver from the mail the king sent me and headed to the castle. I got to the front of the castle and the first thing I saw was about twenty rangers and twenty knights and guards and the ones in front of the gate said at the same time said to me “what’s your name and why are you here?” I replied back “my name is Joey Erone, I’m was born Europe and the king sent me a mail to go to his castle. They slowly walk to the side and the huge door open and a monk-like guy said to me “the king’s room is on left and then you will see a huge door and go through that door, you will see a sign and.”. I interrupt by shouting to him “ will you just show me instead!!” he replied “ yes”.

He started guiding me to the king’s room. It seen like a maze of endless amount of doors and art until finally we found a gigantic door, he knocked on the gigantic door there was a slide sound and a hole open up and they started talking in a voice and language I’m not familiar with. After a while the door finally open, I walked in and there was the king, sitting on a 7 feet chair all made of gold except the cushions. I bowed down to the king, he signals me to get up, and I did.

“Hello, Joey Erone” stopped to drink his wine then started to talk again “your sir John’s grandson, aren’t you? I replied back “yes, he is or was your royal guard, wasn’t he? He replied “Yes, that’s true and I want you to be our scout for the country America” I replied quickly and a little louder “ why would you want me? I’m only a fourteen year old commoner!” he said calmly “training starts tomorrow” I bowed down. He signals me to stand up I did and slowly walk out of the king’s room. I got out and the monk was still standing, waiting for me. I asked, “Is there a place I can sleep?” he said back “ yes, follow me. We went in to another hall of never-ending amount of rooms again. “My head would explode if I was the king of this castle,” I whisper to myself. After turning and going around the hall, finally I’m in my room. Everything was made of gold and silver except the cushion and I jump on the bed and the monk-like guy said to me “good night, Joey” and he close the door, then I slowly close my eyes. “Joey Erone” I heard in a low voice. I quickly got up and it was the king he said to me “get dress up, for the first day of training”.

I dressed up and follow the king to the training place. When I got there, the training place was dangerous. I saw the floor frozen and there were rolling boulders everywhere! I back away from the training room a little. Then the king pushed me into the room, I fell on the frozen ground and slide halfway through the first room and a boulder started rolling toward me. I didn’t know what to do.
